— ABOUT THE BOOK
Recognizing Adult ADHD: What Donald Trump Can Teach Us About Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
ADHD derails careers, destroys relationships, damages self esteem and even kills people, but too often, we don’t even recognize it and thus can’t treat it effectively.
Donald Trump exemplifies this issue - he walks like a duck, talks like a duck, and even tweets like a duck - so why do we duck the issue and avoid talking about his ADHD?
Dr. Kruse, in insightful, thoughtful, but deeply provocative ways, utilizes Donald Trump as the Poster Boy for Adult ADHD to help educate us about this condition.
Millions have it, millions more are affected by the individuals with ADHD in their lives, and our whole society is becoming more ADHD-like, so we all need to become more prepared by understanding what ADHD is and how to cope with its intrusion into our lives.

— ABOUT THE AUTHOR
John Kruse won local and and national writing awards during high school, medical school, and while earning a PhD in basic neuroscience, but for the next two decades focused his energies on developing his psychiatric practice and building a family. Two intertwined tragedies prompted him to return to his passion for writing.
In his clinical practice he met an unending stream of patients in their twenties, forties, and even seventies who had never been diagnosed with or treated for ADHD despite clearly displaying the symptoms of the condition.
The confusion and chaos sown by President Trump’s unacknowledged ADHD comprised the second calamity. Dr. Kruse wrote Recognizing Adult ADHD: What Donald Trump Can Teach Us About Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder to address both crises, and to deepen our understanding of, and empathy for, those individuals with the complex and potentially disabling condition of adult ADHD.
